These songs were mostly recorded in 2013 as demos for "The Man Upstairs". These tracks were recorded in Cardiff by Charlie Francis in his attic, and in many cases didn’t survive being re-cut with Joe Boyd in London when it came to session time.
The concept for "The Man Upstairs" was that Joe and I make a kind of Judy Collins 1965-era album: half covers, half originals. That method has been extended for this limited edition outtake album.
I hope you enjoy it!

Another alternative reality from Hitcho where the Man Downstairs supplants the Man Upstairs just as Mossy Liquor dissolves Moss Elixir and a Groovy Decoy turns your attention from the Groovy Decay. Who needs reality, this is a fantastic collection. Favorite track: Recalling The Truth.

This collection of songs is as good as "The Man Upstairs," which works better as an *album* than this one -- that's the only qualitative difference.

I have to admit that I haven’t listened to Robyn’s music in years. I always enjoyed his music back in the day. I came across him again through Def. Dylan’s Podcast of Emma Swift’s”Blonde on the Tracks”. I love the Man Upstairs. Favorite track is Townes Van Zandt ‘s “The Tower Song”. I really have a soft spot for Solo with just a guitar. Well down Robyn old friend.
